Santa hotline numbers for 2026, checked
The best-known free Santa hotline is Santa's Hotline at +1 (605) 313-4000 (Spanish +1 (605) 313-4001), run by FreeConferenceCall.com: kids hear a greeting and leave Santa a message. On Christmas Eve, NORAD answers 1-877-HI-NORAD with Santa's location. In Australia, kids dial #HOHOHO from Telstra payphones. For a line where Santa answers by name and talks back, a live call service like CallSanta gives you your own North Pole number.
Search "Santa's phone number" and you'll find dozens of numbers, many copied from old articles and some that no longer go anywhere near the North Pole. Below are the lines we could trace back to the organization that runs them, with what your child actually hears. We checked each operator's own page on October 27, 2026.

A Santa line that talks back
| CallSanta | Your own North Pole number, sent by email and text within seconds of ordering | Santa answers, greets your child by name and has a real two-way conversation about their wish, their good deed and anything they ask | Every day, any hour, until Christmas Eve | From $29 |
A free hotline is like dropping a letter in Santa's mailbox: sweet, but one way. A live line is the phone call kids imagine, where Santa says "Hello, Emma! I heard you helped your little brother tie his shoes this week" and then listens to what they say back. You give Santa those details first, through a two-minute form. Read how a live conversation with Santa works.
How to spot a fake Santa number
- Find it on the operator's own website. A number that only appears in a social post or a copied blog list is a guess.
- Call it yourself first, away from your child. Listen to the whole greeting.
- Be wary of lines that ask for personal details by voice or text. A Santa line has no reason to ask for your address.
- Watch for premium-rate numbers. In the US, 900 numbers charge per minute. In the UK, 09 numbers do.
- Check the date. Articles from past seasons keep circulating with numbers that have since changed hands.
Hotline or live call: which one fits?
- A free hotline suits toddlers and quick, no-cost fun. Expect a recording and a chance to leave a message.
- A live call suits kids who want Santa to answer them, siblings who each want a turn, and older believers who'd notice a recording.
- Both work well together: leave Santa a hotline message in early December, then have him "reply" by name in a live call closer to Christmas.
